Endicia for Mac : Zebra 2844 Integration
Endicia for Mac works great with a any standard Mac-compatible printer but it really shines when used with a Zebra 2844 high-speed thermal printer.
These printers require no ink and can print as fast as 4 inches per seconds, that's a shipping label in less than two seconds! They are optimized for high quality barcode printing and have a small footprint for desktop use.
To use a Zebra 2844 with Endicia for Mac, you have the option of connecting the printer via USB or through a serial adapter. Connect your printer and then choose Printer Setup from the File menu. Choose the Zebra 2844 printer radio button which will then allow you to click Configure Zebra. This dialog allows you to fine-tune your thermal printer's settings. Choose USB or the appropriate serial port depending on your connection. Then click the Print Configuration button to see if everything is hooked up correctly. You should get a label's worth of status information. If you receive an error, double check your connections and make sure the correct port is chosen in the dialog.
You can then change the print orientation depending on what makes the most sense for you, alter the speed and darkness settings, and for advanced users, download raw commands to the printer.
