What is InstaPostage?
InstaPostage consists of labels that are a replacement for postage stamps that you can print on demand. a replacement for postage stamps that you can print on demand. They are designed to be used in routine envelope mail—such as the pre-addressed reply envelopes like your utility bill or windowed envelopes that can't be fed through a printer.
There are two ways to print InstaPostage: InstaPostage Sheets or InstaPostage Rolls for Dymo. The sheets work on any modern inkjet or laser printer. The rolls require a DYMO LabelWriter. Both can be purchased through the Supplies menu on Endicia for Mac.
How do I print InstaPostage?
Printing InstaPostage is as simple as selecting an amount, loading the appropriate label stock, and printing. The InstaPostage service is included with Endicia for Mac and is available in version 1.3 and later.
When shouldn't I use InstaPostage?
We don't reccommend using InstaPostage for packages—that's what Endicia for Mac was designed to do. You lose features such as discounted Delivery Confirmation and hidden postage that are not available with InstaPostage.
Can i print only a part of a sheet of stamps?
Yes. You can print only the number of stamps you need. Just set the mail class and weight for the stamps you want and clear the stamps you don't want to print. Then make sure the InstaPostage paper you have loaded in your printer has blank stamps left in the positions the InstaPostage window is showing stamps.
Do I need to use special paper for printing stamps?
Yes, you must use InstaPostage paper, which has the Endicia logo and fluorescent ink marks. The USPS scanning and sorting equipment uses the fluorescence to detect the stamps.
Can I make my own amount or just select from a pre-determined list?
InstaPostage lets you make stamps of almost any denomination.
InstaPostage Requires Great Care When Printing
When printing mailing labels in Endicia for Mac, there are a number of ways to handle misprints. You can reprint in some cases or apply for refunds. But not so with InstaPostage!
There are no refunds for InstaPostage. InstaPostage are general purpose stamps - they aren't tied to a specific address. If you have several sheets of InstaPostage at 41 cents, you can use them at your leisure — even if it takes you a year to go through all of them.
The biggest challenge you will face is misprints. Since no refunds will be offered even for misprints, you should be absolutely certain that you have everything set up properly when you print live postage.
